"Well hello there dear! I’m afraid It’s not ‘Mrs.’ as I am not married, but please, call me Bertha anyway. An aspiring Ground-Type Gym leader you say..?"
Oh. ‘Ground-Type Gym-Leader’. A certain man was in mind…
"Mhm, oh, yes. There is, of course, what is rudimentry for any trainer feeding, hygene, training, expressing love and companionship and what not. Although I assume you haven’t come here to ask me that, ahaha!
Specifically caring for Ground-type Pokémon is rather difficult at first. They can be very rough to handle and are not the most easiest to work with if they don’t like you. They tend to hm, burrow underground. Keep in mind it’s also very messy, so I always would use a spare outfit you don’t mind getting ruined.
I also recommened goggles and basic safety equipment at first. If you are say, handling a Sandile, you wouldn’t want to catch their bite, or a Hippowdon - getting blasted with hot air and sand is.. not very nice.
One of the key elements is observation and patience. The former is needed to know when your Pokémon needs rest. Let me tell you - they are VERY stubborn. They will keep training until it potentially injures them very badly.. You need to step in for this point. Patience is, well, that’s a no brainer for any Pokémon.
Some specific Pokémon require specific tips - for example, don’t touch Swniub’s nose, etc. But always research each Pokémon individually and you’ll find yourself caring for them to be both a good challenge and a rewarding pay off.”
